U.S. Benefits

MEDICAL
Medical benefits are available on your first day of employment. Adaptec offers a Preferred Provider Option, and in some locations, a Health Maintenance Organization.  Co-pays are $20 for in network office visits.  Prescription co-pays are $10/$25/$40.  All other services are subject to an annual $250 deductible.  In network services are paid at 90%, out of network at 70%.  The out of pocket maximum is $1,500 per person per year.

DENTAL
Dental benefits also are available on your first day of employment.  Adaptec offers a Preferred Provider Plan through Delta Dental.  There is 100% coverage for preventive care (checkups, cleanings). Additional dental services after a $50/person deductible covered at 80% for routine care (fillings, root canals); 50% coverage for major work (crowns, bridges). Using a Preferred Provider increases your coverage levels.

VISION
Vision coverage is offered through the Vision Service Plan (VSP) for employees and their dependents. Coverage includes eye exams and lenses (or contact lenses) every 12 months and frames every 24 months. Coverage for non-VSP providers is paid according to a reimbursement schedule.

LIFE INSURANCE
Available on your first day of employment, Adaptec provides 2 time salary in regular life insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance.  You can purchase additional amounts up to a combined total of five times your annual salary for a maximum of $750,000. Travel accident insurance is fully paid by Adaptec and provides $350,000 of coverage for employees in case of loss of life or dismemberment during travel on company business. Employees may also purchase life insurance for dependents.

Stock Options and Restricted Stock Awards
Adaptec offers eligible employees Stock Option Grants and/or Restricted Stock Awards.

Incentive Programs

Bonus payments are paid two times per year to eligible employees based on the achievement of financial, departmental, and individual goals.

401(k) Retirement Savings Account
You may defer up to 25% of your salary to your 401(k) account and choose from different investment options intended for low, moderate, to high risk. You can access your account anytime, online or by phone. Adaptec's annual match is $.50 to $1 on the first $6,000 you contribute during the calendar year.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Adaptec offers two flexible savings account programs that allow you to use tax free money to pay for medical, dental & vision expenses for you and your family, or for child care (or adult care) expenses.

Paid Vacation & Holiday Time
Each year, employees enjoy a generous time-off program that includes 12 paid holidays and 12 vacation days. With the third year of employment, an additional vacation day is added each year. Employees accrue vacation days for a maximum of 320 hours. For vacation time in excess of 80 hours, employees can exchange hours for cash.

Illness & Disability
When you experience a minor illness that keeps you away for no more than a week, you continue to receive 100% of your pay. For short-term disability situations ranging from 1 to 26 weeks away, you may elect a plan through which you are paid 60% of your salary tax-free. Additionally, Long-term disability applies when you are ill more than six months.

Leaves of Absence
You may apply for a leave of absence for medical disabilities, personal needs, military or jury duty, bereavement, or as allowed through the Family Medical Leave Act.

Educational Assistance Program
Adaptec encourages lifelong learning and will reimburse expenses associated with work-related study for a maximum of $5,000 per calendar year.

Employee Referral Program
When you recruit a friend or acquaintance to the Adaptec team, you will receive a bonus of $1000 to $2000.

Dependent Care Assistance Program
Adaptec offers a resource and referral service for child care, eldercare and pet care needs. In addition, the company subsidizes emergency back up care for child care or elder care.

Community Giving
Adaptec provides a corporate match of your donation to qualified educational or charitable organizations. Funding priorities include education and research, health and human services, and the arts.
